With European funding, the Municipality of Ruse is turning the building of the former Teacher’s House into an International Youth Center

The restoration of the building will also change the appearance of the main pedestrian street in Ruse

 

The municipality of Ruse received an invitation to conclude a contract for financing a project proposal for the construction of the International Youth Center – Ruse in the building of the former Teacher’s House on ul. “Александровска” 29. The activities will be financed according to the National Plan for Recovery and Sustainability.

 

The goal of the project is to provide young people with a variety of activities, as well as comprehensive services to help their personal development and their suitability for employment. The activities of the Youth Center are still aimed at achieving a higher suitability of young people to the labor market, achieved through close cooperation with business and the non-governmental sector, and providing quality non-formal education as the main approach to youth work.

 

The project envisages a major overhaul of the building, as well as internal renovation and remodeling. Necessary modern and multifunctional furniture and equipment will be purchased to meet the needs of young people. The building will also be suitable for use by persons with physical disabilities.

 

With the renovation of the International Youth Center, the following will be separated:

– rooms with private bathroom for accommodation for 16 persons;

– a hall with opportunities for training/seminars/meetings with a capacity of 100 people, which will be equipped with a simultaneous translation system;

– training hall in digital competence with 20 employees;

– language and other learning hall with capacity for 20 learners;

– informal education room for at least 36 participants;

– hall for art activities and interest clubs;

– multifunctional hall;

– library;

– dressing rooms for men and women;

– dining room for 36 people with kitchen equipment and adjoining premises;

– room for free time;

– reception;

– bar-buffet;

– maid;

– warehouses and technical premises;

– offices with working places for employees at the center;

– outdoor space for recreation and outdoor events.

 

The building is an architectural monument of culture, as its facade is richly decorated with decorative moldings, pilasters and ornaments, and after the restoration, the appearance of the main pedestrian street in Russia will change.

 

The project will be financed according to the procedure № BG-RRP-1.008 “А1 Youth Centers (in regional cities)” according to the National Plan for Recovery and Sustainability (НПВУ), and the total amount of eligible investment costs is a little over 4 million leva.
