The construction of the International Youth Center in Ruse is starting

The construction and repair works for the construction of the International Youth Center – Ruse will start in a few days. He was still placed in the building of the former Teacher’s House, located on 29 Alexandrovska St. This became clear at today’s press conference in the building of the Municipality of Ruse.

The youth center will still be built according to the project №BG-RRP-1.008-0008 “Construction of the International Youth Center – Ruse”, financed by the National Plan for Reconstruction and Sustainability of the Republic of Bulgaria.

The total amount of the grant that the Municipality of Ruse will receive for the implementation of the project is BGN 4,277,438, and co-financing is in the amount of BGN 300,000. The deadline for the implementation of the activities is 30.06.2026.

The contractor for the construction and renovation works is the Russian firm “ROAN-90”, selected after conducting a public tender. The project envisages a major overhaul, as well as internal renovation and remodeling of the building. It will still be suitable for use by people with physical disabilities. There will be separate rooms for training and art activities, multifunctional halls, as well as a large event hall with a capacity of 100 people. The center also has rooms to accommodate 16 young people. The yard will also be landscaped.

A team of specialists will be assigned to the center – mediators, youth workers, psychologists, social workers and/or educators who will work with the youth to involve them in the center’s activities, recognizing it as an attractive place for meetings, development and learning. Specialists still carry out field work – in schools and quarters.

The Youth Center also offers a variety of activities and services to support the personal development of young people up to 29 years of age, including those from vulnerable groups. Activities to support the search for work, non-formal education, training to acquire digital competences and other key skills, measures for reintegration/integration of young people who have dropped out of the education system, activities to stimulate various initiatives, etc. are foreseen.
