The implementation of the project to build a Youth Center in Ruse has started
The Youth Center will be built in Ruse with funding from the National Plan for Recovery and Sustainability. The center is still located in the building of the former Teacher’s House.
The Municipality of Ruse concluded a contract for non-grant financial assistance according to the procedure “Building youth centers” according to НПВУ. The project is worth 4 277 438.24 BGN. The future center will be a place for youth initiatives, forums, student clubs and creative workshops, sports events, meetings and training.
The goal of the project is to provide young people with a variety of activities, as well as comprehensive services to help their personal development and their suitability for employment. The activities of the Youth Center are still aimed at achieving a higher suitability of young people to the labor market, achieved through close cooperation with business and the non-governmental sector, and providing quality non-formal education as the main approach to youth work. Initiatives and training related to digital literacy and the development of entrepreneurial skills will be the focus of the activity in the youth space.
The project envisages a major overhaul of the building, as well as internal renovation and remodeling. Necessary modern and multifunctional furniture and equipment will be purchased to meet the needs of young people. The building will also be suitable for use by persons with physical disabilities.
With the renovation of the International Youth Center, accommodation rooms, a large hall for training and seminars, halls for digital and language training, a hall for non-formal education, a hall for art and interest clubs, a library, etc. will be provided.
The building, where the center is still located, is an architectural monument of culture, as its facade is richly decorated with decorative skirtings, pilasters and ornaments, and after the restoration, the appearance of the main pedestrian street in Ruse will change.
