A new, inspiring youth initiative broke the daily school routine and proved that when young people are given the freedom to create, ordinary days turn into extraordinary experiences. Under the slogan “An Ordinary, Extraordinary Day,” seventh-graders from SUEE “St. Constantine – Cyril the Philosopher” in the city of Ruse organized and implemented an exciting gathering filled with energy, team spirit, and plenty of smiles.

The primary goal of the initiative, which was born entirely out of the students’ own ideas, was to create a positive and informal environment where they and their classmates could communicate freely, express themselves without anxiety, and build stronger mutual trust. The team at the International Youth Center – Ruse was delighted to step in as a supporting partner, assisting with logistics, coordination, and ensuring a calm and safe space for their ideas to come to life.

Within the span of 45 minutes, the youth engaged their peers in dynamic interactive and role-playing games:

  • “Simon Says – Chain Reaction”: A game that tested the participants’ concentration, active listening, and quick reflexes, sparking a lot of laughter and positive emotions.

  • “Chain Reaction”: A dynamic group activity where every single action influenced the next. It challenged the young people to think fast, adapt on the go, and work in perfect sync.

The youth demonstrated an exceptionally high level of motivation, creativity, and drive. Their active participation turned the meeting into a prime example of how non-formal education and games can develop key social skills—such as tolerance, mutual assistance, and leadership. Instead of just following rules, they actively supported one another, fostering a friendly and highly motivating atmosphere.

We congratulate the students on their fantastic organization and wish them many more successful initiatives to come!
