“Green Future, Our Mission!” – Members of the Eco Club at the International Youth Centre – Ruse Organised an Environmental Initiative in Lipnik Forest Park

Last Saturday (4 July), Lipnik Forest Park became a place where young people demonstrated that commitment, creativity and teamwork can make a real difference for the environment. Under the motto “Green Future, Our Mission!”, dozens of volunteers took part in a youth initiative dedicated to environmental protection and raising awareness about sustainable practices.

The initiative was conceived and implemented by the members of the Eco Club at the International Youth Centre – Ruse. As part of the club’s activities, the young people developed the concept, planned the programme and actively led the implementation of the event. The team of the International Youth Centre – Ruse supported the initiative by assisting with its organisation and providing the necessary conditions for its successful delivery.

The programme combined educational and practical activities. Participants tested their environmental knowledge in an eco quiz, took part in the game “Find the Recycled Items”, and learned more about waste separation and responsible environmental behaviour. As a symbolic gesture towards a greener future, each participant planted seeds in a small cup and took them home to continue caring for them and observe their growth.

The highlight of the initiative was the clean-up of designated areas within Lipnik Forest Park. Working side by side, the young volunteers demonstrated that individual actions can inspire wider community involvement and contribute to preserving nature for future generations.

In recognition of their enthusiasm, commitment and contribution, all participants received special awards. The day concluded with new friendships, shared experiences and the satisfaction of leaving behind a cleaner and more welcoming environment.

Through this initiative, the members of the Eco Club at the International Youth Centre – Ruse once again demonstrated that when young people are encouraged to turn their ideas into action, they become a driving force for positive change and inspire others to care for the environment.
