Youth Camp “Active for the Community” Held under the Project “Establishment of the International Youth Centre – Ruse”
As part of the implementation of project BG-RRP-1.008-0008-C01 “Establishment of the International Youth Centre – Ruse”, the youth camp “Active for the Community” was successfully held, bringing together young people eager to develop their civic, social and leadership skills. Among the participants were representatives of the Youth Parliament – Ruse, who actively took part in the planned activities.
The camp was organized as part of the project’s activities aimed at encouraging young people’s active participation in community life while providing opportunities for non-formal learning, experience sharing and the development of sustainable partnerships. Participants included young people from diverse backgrounds, including representatives of vulnerable groups and the Roma community.
Throughout the camp, participants engaged in a wide range of team-building activities, thematic games, practical tasks and volunteering initiatives designed to strengthen teamwork, leadership, effective communication, mutual respect and tolerance. Through interactive learning methods, the young people explored topics related to democratic values, citizens’ rights and responsibilities, pluralism and opportunities for active participation in local community life.
The camp created a supportive environment for intercultural dialogue, the exchange of ideas and the building of trust among participants. Working together on practical assignments and volunteering activities encouraged active citizenship and a stronger sense of belonging to the community, demonstrating that young people can play a key role in creating positive social change.
The implementation of the “Active for the Community” Youth Camp represents another important step towards achieving the objectives of project BG-RRP-1.008-0008-C01 “Establishment of the International Youth Centre – Ruse”, which aims to create a sustainable environment for the personal development, empowerment and active participation of young people through non-formal education and youth work.
