Implementation of the Project for the Construction of a Youth Center in Ruse Has Started
A Youth Center will be built in Ruse with financing under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. The center will be located in the building of the former Teacher’s House.
The Municipality of Ruse has concluded a grant agreement under the “Construction of Youth Centers” procedure of the NRRP. The project is valued at BGN 4,277,438.24. The future center will serve as a venue for youth initiatives, forums, student circles, creative workshops, sports events, meetings, and training sessions.
The goal of the project is to provide young people with diverse activities, as well as comprehensive services to assist in their personal development and employability. The activities of the Youth Center will aim to achieve a higher adaptability of young people to the labor market, reached through close cooperation with businesses and the non-governmental sector, and by providing quality non-formal education as the primary approach to youth work. A key focus of the youth space’s activities will be initiatives and training related to digital literacy and the development of entrepreneurial skills.
The project envisages a major overhaul of the building, alongside internal renovation and restructuring. The necessary modern and multifunctional furniture and equipment will be purchased to meet the needs of young people. The building will be fully adapted for accessibility by persons with physical disabilities.
Upon completion of the renovation, the International Youth Center will feature accommodation rooms, a large hall for training sessions and seminars, digital and language learning rooms, a non-formal education room, an art activity and interest club room, a library, and more.
The building that will house the center is an architectural cultural monument, featuring a facade richly adorned with decorative moldings, pilasters, and ornaments. Following its restoration, the appearance of Ruse’s main pedestrian street will be significantly transformed.
