Youth from Nikolovo Developed Communication and Teamwork Skills with the “Under the Linden Trees” Initiative
Students from the “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” Primary School in the village of Nikolovo implemented the youth initiative “Under the Linden Trees” with the support of the International Youth Center – Ruse.
The seventh-graders actively participated in the preparation and execution of the event, proposing ideas for the activities and supporting their classmates during the games. The main focus of the program was on the interactive games “Step Forward” and “Broken Telephone” (Chinese Whispers), through which the participants developed communication skills, active listening, trust, and teamwork.
Through these game-based situations and by sharing personal experiences, the students discovered just how important mutual respect, effective communication, and cooperation truly are. The initiative took place in a highly positive atmosphere that encouraged free expression of opinions, mutual assistance, and the active participation of everyone involved.
The team of the International Youth Center – Ruse supported the young initiators in the role of facilitators, assisting with the organization of the activities and creating a safe and motivating environment.
By implementing this initiative, the young people strengthened their communication, cooperation, and mutual respect skills, while simultaneously demonstrating that they can successfully plan and carry out activities with a positive impact on their school community.
