Youth Initiative “Creating for Our Planet”
On April 21, 2026, on the eve of Earth Day, the area surrounding the “All Saints” Temple in the Park of the National Revival Leaders was transformed into an open-air stage for ecological art. The initiative “Creating for Our Planet,” organized by the “Dunavsko Shianiev” (Danube Glow) Non-Profit Organization in partnership with the International Youth Center – Ruse, merged creativity and environmental care into an exciting event.
The main focus of the initiative was the creation of an eco-installation using the popular “yarn bombing” (knitted graffiti) technique. Utilizing colorful yarn and drawings, young people, volunteers, and the Youth Center team decorated around 20 trees in the park.
The goal of this contemporary street art is not only to enhance the urban environment but also to draw citizens’ attention to global ecological issues and the importance of environmental preservation.
Through their joint efforts, the participants became part of the international Earth Day movement, demonstrating active civic engagement and responsibility toward nature.
