Youth Initiative “Kindness Begins with Us – The Easter Bunny”

On April 3, 2026, the International Youth Center – Ruse had the pleasure of supporting an exceptionally warm and meaningful initiative, driven entirely by the youth themselves. Under the slogan “Kindness Begins with Us – The Easter Bunny,” seventh-grade students from “Angel Kanchev” Primary School transformed their classroom into a space for empathy, creativity, and kindness.

This event serves as an excellent example of the power of youth energy, as the idea was entirely proposed and planned by the seventh-graders. The students not only initiated the theme but also took an active part in:

• Choosing the specific games and activities;

• Designing the Easter theme;

• Organizing and implementing every stage of the event.

The role of the IYC – Ruse team was solely to provide the necessary support and mentorship, helping the young people breathe life into their ideas. Through their commitment, the students demonstrated enviable teamwork skills and a genuine desire to foster a more positive school environment.

The initiative’s program featured a series of interactive role-playing games focused on non-verbal communication, emotional expression, and mutual trust. Highlights included:

• “The Wacky Easter Bunny” and “The Bunny Says” – focused on spontaneity and concentration;

• “Easter Fun Telephone” – focused on active listening;

• “Easter Hug” and “Quick Scenes Without Words” – focused on expressing support and kindness through gestures.

The initiative concluded with a reflection session where participants shared that they felt closer to their classmates and more at ease communicating with one another. They recognized kindness not just as a holiday gesture, but as a daily personal choice.
