Youth Initiative: The Voice of Youth

On May 12, an initiative group of young people, in partnership with the team from the International Youth Center (IYC) – Ruse, organized an interactive event for dialogue and creative self-expression under the slogan “The Voice of Youth”. The initiative was launched as a platform to foster civic engagement among young people in the city of Ruse.

The primary mission of the event was to create a safe and supportive environment where participants could freely express their views on current social issues. A key highlight of the initiative was allowing the youth to craft short messages, opinions, or ideas on topics close to their hearts—such as education, ecology, friendship, the future, and social media.

Participants recorded their thoughts on a specially designed display board. The event concluded with a brief discussion focused on constructive solutions to the identified issues, emphasizing the role of young people as catalysts for change.

The ultimate goal of the initiative is to encourage youth to express their opinions freely, develop critical thinking, and actively participate in public life. Thanks to the expert assistance of the IYC – Ruse team, the event was fully supported in terms of logistics and organization, allowing the young leaders to focus entirely on the core content.

The International Youth Center extended special thanks to all the young individuals who actively took part in the initiative. Their commitment, drive, and desire for self-expression are a clear sign that young people need to be heard, understood, and included in public dialogue. As a direct result of the event, several participants expressed an enthusiastic interest in becoming volunteers at IYC – Ruse and joining future collaborative initiatives.
