On April 22, 2026, the Vocational School of Transport in the city of Ruse transformed into the stage for an exceptionally dynamic and inspiring youth initiative under the slogan “The Earth Comes Alive: Move, Mimic, and Think.” The most remarkable aspect of the event was that it was entirely conceived, planned, and implemented based on the ideas and leadership of the eighth-grade students themselves. As the team of the International Youth Center – Ruse, we had the pleasure of merely providing our methodological and organizational support, leaving the leading role completely in their hands.

The theme “The Earth Comes Alive” symbolizes the pursuit of continuous development and experiential learning. The young organizers proposed the concept themselves, designed the rules, and stepped into the shoes of true facilitators of the process. They created a space where their peers did not just receive information but rediscovered it through movement and logic.

The program, prepared by the eighth-graders, combined fun physical activities with mental challenges. The interactive games demonstrated how learning can be both fun and shared:

  • “Quick Swap”: A game that put the youth’s quick reflexes and adaptability to the test.

  • “Freeze”: Aimed at improving concentration and self-control.

  • “Crazy Telephone” (Wacky Whispers): Which focused on active listening and the accurate transmission of information.

  • “Right / Wrong”: A fun mix of movement and questions to stimulate logical thinking and general knowledge.

Before starting the games, the young people established their own communication rules, prioritizing respect, tolerance, and mutual support.

The event concluded with an emotional reflection session, led once again by the student organizers. The shared feedback proved that when young people are trusted, they demonstrate incredible leadership, responsibility, and team spirit.

This initiative proved once again that the “youth-for-youth” approach is among the most powerful tools for building a confident and cohesive youth community. We congratulate the young initiators on their creativity and courage to be the drivers of change! The International Youth Center – Ruse will continue to be a reliable partner and support system for every upcoming bold idea from the young people in our city.
